Hi Robin,

Latin used to be a required subject here in Nova Scotia, but by the time I got there, you didn't have to take it - and I didn't. I realize now what a mistake it was to think I'd never need to know any Latin. All is not lost however. A few years ago I purchased a book that has come in handy many many times: Latin for the Illiterati by Jon R. Stone (Routledge, 1996). It's a treasure.
