The "Theseus Ring", long at the center of debate as a genuine relic of the Minoans, was recently proven to be a true artifact from the 15th century B.C.

The "Theseus Ring", a solid gold ring that was found in the ancient center of Athens known as the Plaka back in the 1950's, was determined to be a genuine Minoan artifact by Greek archaeologists last week in Athens.

The ring, which depicts a Minoan bull jumping scene, was thought lost forever, until the Greek media reported its whereabouts, and the National Archaeological Museum expressed interest in purchasing it from the woman who owned it.

This proves to be quite a coup for Greek history and archaeology. With so little evidence from the Minoan period, this exciting discovery helps to shed a little more light on the history and artisanship of the fascinating Minoan people.
