Definition of the glossary term Zeus

Zeus was the god of thunder and the sky, and he was the man in charge of the entire Greek pantheon on Mt. Olympus. He was all-knowing and all-powerful. He was the son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea, and he was also the brother and wife of Hera, and the brother of Hades and Poseidon.

Attributes: lightning bolt, eagle

Notorious for: his love of the ladies, and disguising himself to visit them (a swan, a shower of gold, etc.) . He bore many children from these rendezous, including Athena from Metis, Hermes from Maia, Apollo and Artemis from Leto, and Dionysus from Semele. He did have children with his wife, including Ares, Hebe, Eileithyia, and Hephaestus.
