Definition of the glossary term Ares

Ares was the Greek god of war. He was the son of Zeus and Hera.

Attributes: spear, helmet

Known as a lover of war, Ares had a lust for blood and brutality. Because of this, he was most known as the patron of the more cowardly and less heroic aspects of war, unlike his female counterpart, Athena.

Roman name: Vulcan
