Definition of the glossary term Trojan Horse

The Trojan Horse is part of the myth of the Trojan War.

The Tojan Horse was a giant wooden horse built by the Greeks, and offered to the Trojans as a peace offering. The Trojans were strongly warned against "Greeks bearing gifts" by Laocoon, a priest of Poseidon. The Trojans did not heed the warning, and allowed the horse to enter the gates of Troy. The Greek soldiers, led by Odysseus, spilled out of the Horse, and laid siege on Troy, effectively ending the war, and Troy.
