Definition of the glossary term Pharaoh
A Pharaoh was the leader, or king, of Egypt during the culture's reign before the monotheistic religions of Christianity and Islam gained prominence. The Pharaoh was usually male, and he was believed to be Horus (the god of the sky) reincarnated. Related articles:
